SSMDE – Licensing and attribution (2.4)

Open standard: free to implement, credit the concept, keep meanings intact

Plain-language terms

  • Open to use. Anyone may implement SSMDE in industrial, commercial, municipal, academic, safety, or research settings—no fees, no registration.
  • Attribution. When you implement or adapt it, cite the concept name “Shunyaya Symbolic Mathematical Data Exchange (SSMDE)”.
  • Independence. No implementer may claim exclusive stewardship or proprietary control over SSMDE.
  • No warranty / no endorsement. Provided “as-is,” without certification, approval, or affiliation.

What “implement SSMDE” means (minimum behavior)

Your records emit and consume the core fields with their non-negotiable meanings:

value # untouched fact; collapse parity holds: phi((m,a)) = m
align # bounded dial in (-1,+1), computed via clamp → atanh → fuse → tanh (or declared equivalent preserving bounds and parity)
manifest_id # immutable rulebook identifier that resolves to a replayable manifest

Recommended where accountability matters:

band # human/policy stance from manifest cutpoints + response windows
stamp # time+integrity+order chain (e.g., SSMCLOCK1|...|sha256=...|prev=...)

You may (green list)

• Build products, services, dashboards, alerting, review workflows around SSMDE
• Bundle SSMDE-style output in commercial offerings
• Extend records with optional privacy/compliance fields
• Define your own bands/labels, IF you declare numeric cutpoints and actions in the manifest

You may not (red lines)

• Claim others need your permission to emit SSMDE-compliant records
• Rebrand or dilute the core meanings of {value, align, band, manifest_id, stamp}
• Present SSMDE as your proprietary format while altering field intent

Clarity on non-endorsement

Using SSMDE does not imply:

• authors audited or validated your data/thresholds
• authors certified your safety, clinical, financial, or legal processes
• authors approved your routing, shutdown, or AUTO-EXECUTE rules

SSMDE gives a truth-carrying envelope; your duty-of-care remains yours.

Why these terms protect everyone

  • Adopters ship freely, integrate anywhere, and remain vendor-independent.
  • The origin stays recognizable—no silent forks that keep the name but change the meanings.
  • Auditors & regulators can rely on consistent semantics across vendors and time.
