SSM-Clock—Mechanics & Capabilities (0.2–0.3)

0.2 Why it works (mechanics, intuitive)

  • Stacked consensus suppresses aliases. Multiple rhythms create a joint valley in E(t). Even if one cycle aliases, the stack pins the correct t.
  • Coarse->fine + Brent refine. A small coarse grid finds the right neighborhood; a derivative-free, bracketed refine locks onto the valley without gradients.
  • Circular residual inside the energy. Use wrap180 so phase wrap is handled natively; the minimum respects periodicity.
  • Frozen manifest = auditability. With fields {label, period_days, b0_deg, w_deg_per_day}, anyone can reproduce outputs from inputs alone.
  • Phase-only, device-native. No wall clock or ephemeris means recognition remains local, private, and resilient to network loss.

0.3 What the Shunyaya Symbolic Mathematical Clock can do

  • Recover “now” to minutes from phase snapshots; robust to drift, missing timestamps, and offline conditions.
  • Run fully offline with deterministic I/O; pocket calculator covers T_search, modeled phases, residuals, circular error, and features.
  • Set symbolic waits (SSM-Wait):
wait N minutes  ->  advance by Delta_tau >= N/1440 days

Unwrap across the modulo horizon T_search and fire deterministically offline.

  • Publish confidence lawfully. Report Z and (optionally) carry alignment in <m,a> without altering magnitudes.
  • Audit end-to-end. Frozen manifests + ASCII objective + deterministic CLI make external verification straightforward.
