2.11 — Display and banding (UI guidance)
- Minimal surfaces. Display the value and a compact band badge
A++/A+/A0/A-/A--. - Advisory first. Treat bands as evidence strength; actuators continue to act on
muntil a safety case gates ona. - Operator cues. Highlight low-confidence spans on timelines; never hide numbers behind badges.
- Canonical lane display. Clamp before showing:
a := clamp(a, -1+eps_a, +1-eps_a); 4–5 decimals are sufficient. - Zero convention.
(0,+1)is allowed as a policy-defined “fully certain zero”; otherwise preserve reporteda. - Consistency. Use the same thresholds everywhere to keep audits and handovers clean.
2.12 — Defaults and profiles (recommended starting points)
- Numerical defaults.
eps_a = 1e-6,eps_w = 1e-12,denom_soft_mintuned per domain,gamma = 1. - Policy default (normative).
division_policy = "strict"for magnitudes unless explicitly declared otherwise.- Profiles:
"soft"for dashboards/visualization;"strict"for scientific compute;"meadow"only with explicit sentinel semantics and sign-off.
- Profiles:
- Deployment mode. Start observation-only with full
(m,a)logging; enable gate/decision ports in advisory mode after passing conformance. - Disclosure. Publish active knobs and band thresholds with each release for reproducible comparisons.
- Determinism. Fix knobs for a rollout; changing any knob resets parity claims and must be stamped in the manifest.
